This year, as part of our 10-year-long UNESCO ASPnet sister-school partnership, we welcomed students and teachers from our sister school, Ranum Efterskole in Denmark.

Throughout their visit, our students guided their Danish peers on visits to the Ancient City of Ephesus, the House of the Virgin Mary, Şirince and Yeşilova Mound, introducing them to the region’s rich cultural heritage and sharing UNESCO’s work in this field.

The programme also included a visit to İzmir Wildlife Park, where students attended a seminar titled “Biodiversity and Endangered Species.” The seminar focused on three of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals for 2030: Climate Action (Goal 13), Life Below Water (Goal 14) and Life on Land (Goal 15). Following the seminar, students had the opportunity to observe wildlife in its naturalistic habitats.

This meaningful partnership, now in its tenth year, continues to provide our students with valuable opportunities to learn together, exchange ideas and deepen their understanding of cultural heritage, sustainability and international cooperation.
