Our April 23 National Sovereignty and Children’s Day Celebration Ceremony, organized under the leadership of the Second Foreign Languages and Science Departments, began with a moment of silence and the singing of the Turkish National Anthem. Following our students’ performance of “İnsan İnsan,” historian and author Sinan Meydan met with our students for a talk titled “National Sovereignty in the Footsteps of Atatürk.” During the session, he shared insights into Mustafa Kemal Atatürk’s understanding of national sovereignty, the spirit of the War of Independence, and the achievements of the national struggle within their historical context.
Following the talk, students from Limontepe Remzi Oğuz Arık Primary School took the stage and won the appreciation of our students with their meaningful and spirited performances. After the ceremony, Mr. Meydan kindly signed copies of his books for our community.
We once again celebrate with pride and joy this special day that the Great Leader, Mustafa Kemal Atatürk, dedicated to children.
